Item Selling Guide

Graldok is generally the best place to sell ordinary items with a true value of less than 2000 gold. For more expensive items, try Gryphook's in Tryndmoor. For unique or magical items, comparison-shop with Bryniver.

An item's "true" value can be determined by trying to sell it in a shop that can't afford it. Hawklor and Durnsig work well for this. You will be warned that your item is worth about X gold tokens, but you can only get (maximum for the shop) here. Then say "Forget it" and walk away.

• Bryniver sometimes buys unique weapons and items for more than other places will offer, but not always.
• Gryphook's in Tryndmoor buys items for about 50% of their value, up to a maximum of 2,500 gold.
• At Graldok you can sell items for about 75% of their value, up to a maximum of 1,000 gold. Any time an item's true value is more than 2,000 gold it should not be sold in Graldok.
• You can sell weapons to Mezaryl at Trithik's Blade Square marketplace for 75% of their value, up to a maximum of 2,000 gold. Mezaryl offers 1,875 gold for all unmatched weapons and 1,125 gold for all exceptional weapons, which makes her the best place to sell them.
• At Talinus and Port Hallik you can sell items for about 50% of their value, up to a maximum of 100 gold.
• At Trithik you can sell items for about 66% of their value, up to a maximum of 50 gold.
• At Hawklor you can sell items for about 37% of their value, up to a maximum of 20 gold.
• At Durnsig you can sell items for about 50% of their value, up to a maximum of 15 gold.

Quick Item Value Summary:

• Battle Axes, Broad Swords, and Longswords have the highest value to encumbrance ratio, followed closely by War Axes and Two-handed swords. Keep these whenever you can.

• Weapons that have a very low value to encumbrance ratio are, starting with lowest: Iron Staff, Quarterstaff, Scythe, Club, Spiked Club, Cudgel, Flail, Halberd, Spear, Dagger, Dirk, Iron rod. It's generally not worth keeping these unless you have room to spare or they are of high quality (sturdy or better).

• The top ten armor items with the highest value to encumbrance ratio are, in decending order: Ring Sleeves, Splint Helm, Ring Breastplate, Ring Helm, Chain Sleeves, Ring Greaves, Padded Shirt, Studded Leather Breastplate, Hide Breastplate, Bone Breastplate

• The bottom ten armor items with the lowest value to encumbrance ratio are, from lowest to highest: Studded Leather Boots, Hide Boots, Bone Boots, Studded Leather Belt, Hide Belt, Bone Belt, Studded Leather Gauntlets, Hide Gauntlets, Bone Gauntlets, Padded Boots. These items are better kept only at higher quality levels.
